Terms of service

The short version: TrackCDC is a personal organiser for your placement season. It is not your placement cell, it is not authoritative, and you should not let it be the only place a deadline exists.

What the service is

TrackCDC is a tool for tracking your own campus placement applications. You enter information, and it organises it. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any university, placement cell, hiring platform, or employer.

It is not a source of truth

This is the term that matters most, so it is stated plainly rather than buried:

  • Eligibility verdicts are informational. They are computed from criteria you entered and a profile you maintain. A parsing mistake, a stale CGPA, or a criterion the announcement never stated will produce a wrong answer. Confirm on your official portal before deciding not to apply.
  • Countdowns are reminders, not guarantees. They run off the date and time recorded in your workspace. If a slot was parsed wrongly or later changed, the countdown will be confidently wrong.
  • The parser is best-effort. It reads unstructured text with pattern matching. Review what it extracted before saving — which is why the review step exists and why unfound fields are marked rather than guessed.
  • Salary deconstructor figures are estimates. The CTC In-Hand Deconstructor relies on simplified models of the Indian New Tax Regime, standard deductions, and basic EPF percentages. Actual paychecks are determined exclusively by your employer's payroll department, local state taxes, and the precise terms of your employment contract.

You remain responsible for meeting your own deadlines and for verifying eligibility with whoever actually decides it.

Your data

With an account, your workspace is stored on our server and follows you between devices. It is still a pre-1.0 service run by one person: there is no uptime guarantee and no self-serve restore, and account recovery depends on the Google or GitHub account you signed in with. Do not treat the vault or the memory bank as your only record of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Showcase mode keeps its sample data in your browser and is wiped by clearing site data. See Privacy and Data & security for specifics.

Acceptable use

  • Use it for your own placement season. Do not enter another person's academic records without their knowledge.
  • Do not use it to circumvent a placement cell's rules or misrepresent your eligibility to an employer.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt the service for others.

Availability and changes

TrackCDC is pre-1.0 and provided as-is, without warranty. Features may change or be removed, and the data model may change between releases. Material changes are recorded on the changelog. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrackCDC is not liable for missed deadlines, missed drives, lost data, or outcomes of any application — including where a countdown, eligibility verdict or parsed field turned out to be wrong. The service is an organiser; the decisions and the responsibility remain yours.
